Shipping policy
All orders are processed within 1 business day (excluding Sundays and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. Parcels are collected by Canada Post on Tuesdays and Fridays. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.
Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates
All orders outside of the City of Edmonton limits are shipped using Canada Post. Shipping costs are determined by your shipping location and the weight of the package. Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. Should your package exceed weight/size restrictions, a second parcel (and a second waybill) will be required. You will be contacted if there is an additional charge required. While we try to include every possibility, it is impossible for the system to anticipate every combination of products on our store.
It is your responsibility to ensure the shipping address is correct. If it is incorrect and the parcel is returned, you will be contacted to determine if you would like to reattempt the shipment (which you will have to pay for) or return the product (15% restocking fee). You are responsible for any fees incurred for returned parcels.
You will be required to pick up your package at your nearest Canada Post location; you will be requested to provide a signature and show your ID. You must be 18 yrs (AB, MB, or QB) or 19 yrs (all other provinces) to receive the package. This requires a $3 "18+/19+ Signature" option (denoted as a "Handling Fee" during checkout). Doorstep delivery is not available.
Alcohol products that are purchased from Sandy Lane Liquor are sold in Alberta – thus ownership title passes to the buyer in Alberta. Sandy Lane Liquor makes no representation to the legal rights of purchasers to import alcohol into any province outside of Alberta. It is solely the purchaser who is responsible for the shipment or importation of alcoholic products. By placing an order with Sandy Lane Liquor the purchaser acknowledges that arrangements to ship alcoholic product(s) out of Alberta are being undertaken at the request of, and under the direction of the purchaser and that the purchaser accepts all responsibility for all costs (including but not limited to taxes or tariffs imposed by regulatory authorities) associated with the transmission of the product.
We are unable to cover any losses or damages that may occur through third party couriers. We always do our absolute best to ensure your order is very well packaged and protected, but once the package leaves our store we are no longer liable for it.
Overweight orders will be split into two (or more) parcels in order to abide by weight restrictions. Should your order be overweight, you will be contacted in regards to either paying for an additional waybill (typically a $20 surcharge) or to reduce items in your shipment in order to reduce the weight. Most common culprits in this regard are larger-format beer packages. Please be aware that the shipping calculator simply looks at either the weight or the volumetric weight, whichever is greater when calculating shipping costs. It cannot differentiate between the two.
Local delivery
As soon as we receive your order, we'll get to work prepping your order and we'll let you know when it's on its way for delivery. All orders received after 3PM will be processed the next business day. Local delivery is available for orders over $200 within Edmonton for only $5. For orders under $200, we charge $12 for local delivery.
We will contact you via text message with the phone number you provided at checkout to notify you on the day of our arrival. Local Deliveries must be made to a home, or business address where you work. An adult who is at least 18 years old must be available to receive the delivery. Our Pro Serve trained drivers will ask for a valid government issued ID. If no one is available to accept the delivery, the merchandise will be returned to the store. You will be contacted to determine if you would like to arrange for another delivery (for an additional delivery fee), pick up the item in store, or return the product. Note: if the product is returned, you will be charged a $15 restocking fee.
In-store pickup
You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at 15610 95 Avenue Edmonton, AB T5P 0A4. After placing your order and selecting local pickup at checkout, your order will be prepared and ready for pick up within the same day of ordering. We will send you an email when your order is ready. From there, it is four easy steps:
- Head to the store, call 780-944-1144 and let us know you’ve arrived. We will ask for your order #, name, and type/color of vehicle you’re driving.
- Have your ID ready and show it in the window as our staff bring out your order.
- Open your trunk or unlock your back door so our staff can load your order.
Our in-store pickup hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please have your order confirmation email and government ID with you when you come.
Should an order not be picked up within seven (7) days and alternate arrangements not made, the order will be returned to stock, and a refund minus the 15% restocking fee will be applied to the original method of payment.
International Shipping
We do not offer international shipping at this time. Sorry, eh!
How do I check the status of my order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.
Date of delivery may vary due to carrier shipping practices, delivery location, method of delivery, and the items ordered. If you haven’t received your order within 7 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at info@sandylaneliquor.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.
Refunds, returns, and exchanges

We do not accept returns or exchanges unless the item you purchased is defective. If you receive a defective item, please contact us at info@sandylaneliquor.com upon receiving your order with details and photos of the product and the defect. We will provide you with further instructions at this time if you’re entitled to a refund or exchange. Returns will not be considered 30 days after receiving the product.
